Monster Arc

By Monster Arc

A turn-based artillery game across floating islands. Read the wind, aim and charge shots, and reshape destructible terrain. Currently in Closed Beta.

Monster Arc is a turn-based artillery game set across floating islands. Reading the terrain, adjusting the angle and choosing shot power around the wind matter more than attacking quickly. Each monster has its own skills, while shots can reshape the battlefield and change the value of a position from one turn to the next.

Aim carefully and use the terrain

The ClosedBeta39 practice room places Nova on Floating Sanctuary, with health, turn order, wind information and four skill buttons visible. Movement consumes a movement-energy bar, so positioning and firing have to be considered together. Shots use an adjustable angle and a charge-and-release control for power.

A practice shot showed the destructible terrain directly: a projectile or lightning effect hit a stone pillar and left a circular opening in its surface. Aiming therefore involves thinking about the space a shot will leave behind, not only its target. The practice room is explicitly marked as offering no rewards, making it a useful place to learn movement and firing before trying other modes.

A monster world still in testing

The developer also describes 3v3 teams, world bosses, fishing and companion customization alongside combat. Those features are developer-reported; our play session stayed in the practice room and did not include PvP matches or world-boss encounters.

Monster Arc is available for testing in Closed Beta rather than as a finished release. Features and progression may change during development. The official website offers browser play and a Windows launcher; this article is based on the desktop Chrome version.

The creator says Claude, Codex and ChatGPT assisted with code, art and content, with the creator directing the design, reviewing the results and testing the game.
