SynClub Adds Novel Maker for Four-Step AI Character Stories

By GameSlash

HiClub's October 22 SynClub update adds a guided Novel Maker: set a character, theme, opening and cover, then continue the story through AI chat.

HiClub announced Novel Maker for its AI-character chat app SynClub on October 22, 2026. Instead of starting a story with a blank chat alone, people can set up a character, fictional world and opening scene in four guided stages, then advance the story by speaking to the AI character. The change is documented in the company's release; it has not been independently play-tested by GameSlash.

The four steps, and why they matter

First, the creator supplies a title and story outline and selects an AI character from SynClub, including one they created. Next come genre or theme, writing tone, narrative style and preferred response length. In the third stage, users enter opening narration or dialogue to anchor the scene. Finally they generate cover art, choose tags and set the story to public or private.

That structure matters because the creator can establish some boundaries before the AI starts responding. It does not demonstrate that the service has invented a new language model or that the plot follows a fixed, independently verified branching game tree.

A story that continues through conversation

After the setup, users interact with the lead character in chat and can ask for a different direction in the story. Public creations can be discovered and experienced by other users, while private stories remain for the creator. HiClub says the feature is offered in its iOS and Android SynClub apps.

How this differs from SynClub's earlier AI Game Maker

SynClub already announced an AI Game Maker in April that created and shared interactive novel games through conversations with an AI agent. Novel Maker is therefore better understood as a newly released, more guided workflow for authoring and chatting inside character-led stories, not SynClub's first AI-powered game creation feature.

The announcement does not establish independent quality benchmarks for its generated narratives, and these promotional pictures are not proof of an independently tested play session.
