VampOS: Red Ledger launches free on Steam with creator disclosing AI-made code, art and music

By GameSlash

Released November 3, VampOS is a vampire-company management game whose creator says AI was used for code, visuals, music, effects, and store copy.

VampOS: Red Ledger launched as a free-to-play Windows game on Steam on November 3, 2026. Indie developer noanimAI makes an unusually broad AI-use disclosure: code, art, soundtrack, effects, and even the store descriptions are described as AI-generated. It is a concrete release that players can access, not just a concept demonstration.

What the game actually does

VampOS is an incremental management simulator framed as the desktop operating system of a vampire company. Each fictional application performs a different business task. RedHarvest.exe and DonorNet.exe feed the supply side; Household.exe organizes workers; Hemotech.exe researches blood products; and Bram Broker.exe manages sales and orders.

You must also watch Suspicion through Red Ledger and use covert operations to limit exposure. Shrine.sys lets you sacrifice the current company and carry permanent improvements into the next run. These systems are the developer's description; GameSlash has not independently played or benchmarked the game.

What the creator disclosed about AI

The developer's Steam disclosure explicitly covers the code, art, music, audio effects and even the marketing graphics and copy. That is a disclosure by the creator, not independent verification of how every asset was made. It also should not be mistaken for a claim that a generative model operates during gameplay. The developer does not identify all model providers or workflows.

Access and content cautions

The Steam store currently offers the game free on Windows, with an English interface. It contains mature themes involving blood, coercion and body horror, mostly expressed through a management interface. Players interested in AI-assisted production can study the product and the scope of its disclosure, while judging actual game quality separately.
