Unity Korea opens October 12–20 applications for a 55-person AI game jam in Busan this November, sponsored by OpenAI and Meshy with Codex tools, 3D asset credits and prizes.
Unity Korea and the Korea Association of Game Industry (K-GAMES) opened applications on October 12, 2026 for a 24-hour Unity AI Game Jam in Busan, scheduled for November 18–19 ahead of G-STAR 2026. OpenAI and AI 3D asset company Meshy are official sponsors. Applications are open through October 20, subject to early closure; organizers plan to select 55 participants through document review.

What the 24-hour challenge involves
Selected developers and designers will form teams on site at BEXCO. During the event, participants can build games with Unity and AI-assisted workflows including the Unity CLI, the Codex plugin and Meshy's 3D asset generation. Unity's event materials describe the competition as a hands-on experiment in combining human game ideas with development tools, not a public launch of a new game engine.
Credits, mentors and possible prizes
Reports drawing on Unity's announcement say participants receive $50 of Unity AI-tool credit each. OpenAI plans to provide developer credits and mentoring from engineers, while Meshy supplies credits for creating 3D assets from prompts and reference images. Depending on the awards category, winning teams may display their games in Unity's G-STAR booth, receive a one-year ChatGPT Pro subscription or be interviewed on Unity's official blogs. These incentives apply to selected participants or winners under organizer rules, not all applicants.
Who can apply and how
The application window is October 12–20, 2026 through Unity Square. Organizers say applications are open to people interested in game development regardless of prior professional experience or field of study, but seats are limited to a selected group of 55. The 24-hour event takes place in person at BEXCO, Busan, on November 18–19. Unity Korea also plans a preparatory webinar on October 27 to introduce tools and workflows.
For independent game creators, the event is an opportunity to see where tools such as Codex and AI-generated 3D assets help a team prototype quickly, while the final game's actual playability and quality still depend on testing. The first application announcement does not report finished games or competition results.
