AI GameBox brings nine local mini-games to AI coding agents
By GameSlash
The MIT-licensed AI GameBox project lets Claude Code and Codex users play nine browser-based mini-games with an agent, including drawing, Gomoku and Undercover.

AI GameBox is a version 1.0 open-source project that turns an AI coding agent into a mini-game companion inside a local web page. Rather than asking an agent only to write code, users can open a game through Claude Code, Codex or another supported agent and play while chatting.
Nine different mini-games
The developer lists nine games: a yes/no mystery host game, drawing and guessing, Gomoku, 20-question character guessing, a Chinese idiom chain, emoji word guessing, collaborative storytelling, Undercover and a d20 dice adventure. Depending on the game, the agent acts as an opponent, host or participant.

In drawing and guessing, the agent can draw for the user or guess the user's drawing; the latter requires vision-capable agent support. In Undercover, players join three AI characters and vote on which participant received a different clue.

A local web game launched as an agent Skill
According to the README, Python 3.8 or newer is required, but no extra Python dependencies are needed. The game's web server runs locally, without requiring internet access for the game itself. Users can place the folder in the documented Skill location for Claude Code, Codex or other supported agents and ask the agent to open AI GameBox. Player names and preferences are stored under the user's home folder.
This is not an online multiplayer game. Features that require an agent to run commands or interpret images depend on the selected agent's capabilities and permissions. GameSlash has reviewed the official documentation and screenshots, not conducted an independent gameplay or performance test.
