Codex AI Game Studio fork adds two game-design-document production skills
By GameSlash
A Codex AI Game Studio distribution adds GDD Interview and GDD Game Studio skills with separate provenance, optional engine tools and Windows/macOS workflows.

A new Codex AI Game Studio + GDD Pack distribution adds two original skills to the established open-source AI Game Studio project. The repository's provenance notes pin the upstream snapshot to October 16, 2026 and distinguish these GDD skills from the underlying core, which is maintained separately.
Two skills organize game design before production
GDD Interview turns existing game design and art requirements into a source-grounded specification, while GDD Game Studio carries that specification through planning, art, animation, audio, implementation and verification. The distribution claims 87 core skills, 97 bundled skills and 49 defined studio roles. Those are repository inventories, not independent effectiveness metrics.

The package exposes Windows and macOS configurations and a catalog of third-party AI game tools. Installing the plugin does not install the engines, AI models or supported external utilities: the documentation says local changes and downloads require additional confirmation. The optional img2threejs integration retains its upstream Apache-2.0 terms.
The fork's original GDD integration is licensed under MIT. Image rights, model weights and output rights are tracked separately, and the project hero is disclosed as an AI-generated illustration. GameSlash reviewed documentation and repository evidence, not a full studio run or published game.
