Community analysis finds nearly half of October Steam releases disclosed AI content
By GameSlash
The reported 49.9% figure is based on developer disclosures and a community analysis, not official Valve statistics.
A community analysis by Reddit user u/ploz found that 49.9% of games released on Steam in October 2026 disclosed AI-generated content, according to reporting by Destructoid and Dexerto. The figures are a community analysis, not official statistics published by Valve.

The reports say the analysis covered around 63,600 games since Steam introduced AI disclosures in January 2024. It puts the October 2025 share at 26.4%, compared with 49.9% in October 2026.

Dexerto reports that artwork was the most frequently mentioned category among disclosing games, and that smaller releases disclosed AI at a higher rate than games with many reviews.
The figures rely on developer disclosures and do not capture undeclared use. Steam's disclosure requirements also changed during the period being compared. GameSlash has not inspected the original dataset or independently reproduced the count, so the figures should be read as a community estimate.
