Easy Fox reveals on-device AI complete, yet game Teach My Little Sister How To Drive spends over $1,000/day on AI.

Easy Fox says an additional on-device AI system for its game about teaching a younger sister to drive is complete, after demo play surged and AI costs exceeded $1,000 per day.
Easy Fox revealed in an interview on October 10, 2026, that it has completed development of an on-device AI model supplement for the game "Teach My Little Sister How To Drive," but it cannot yet replace the cloud-based AI that serves as the core of the conversation, amid AI service costs exceeding $1,000 per day.

The on-device model helps with immediate responses while driving
The development team explained that the on-device model is designed to assist in immediate-response decision-making, while Gemini 2.5 Flash handles conversations and complex scenarios. The supplementary model has been completed but is still being tested under Gemini access limitations.
The studio uses Gemini 2.5 Flash because it responds quickly and plays the younger sister naturally. When usage limits force it to switch to OpenAI Realtime as a backup, some dialogue becomes too long or loses the character's personality. The team therefore has to adjust each model and language separately. Details from an interview with Easy Fox

Demo player numbers grow 20-fold as AI costs exceed $1,000 per day
According to an interview, the number of demo players increased by approximately 20 times in one month, so the team had to borrow money from the bank to cover AI costs exceeding $1,000 per day, and warned that they might have to end the demo early if costs cannot be controlled, but have not yet announced the closure of the demo.
For fully offline conversations, the team estimates that a model of at least 8B would be needed. This could require 8GB of GPU VRAM, rising to about 12GB when combined with speech generation. These figures are the developer's estimates for its own game design.
The full game aims to launch in January 2027.
Easy Fox aims to release the full game on Steam in January 2027, intending to include the anticipated AI costs in the game price without charging extra per dialogue line. View the game at Steam
