TokiMake launches in Japan, linking voiced visual novels to AI character chat and story creation
By GameSlash
Xross Road launched TokiMake for iPhone and the web on 21 October 2026, combining five-episode branching stories, post-story character chat, and user-created narratives.
Xross Road announced the Japanese iPhone and web launch of TokiMake on 21 October 2026. The service combines a voiced branching visual novel, free-form character chat after completing a story, and tools for users to create their own characters and episodes. The developer says Android support is planned, rather than available at launch. Official launch announcement.
Play: five episodes with branching choices
According to Xross Road, each official story spans five episodes and offers five possible endings. Two-choice decisions within scenes change how characters respond and where the narrative goes. This is a structured choice-driven story, rather than a claim that an AI generates every story event dynamically.

Talk: chat with a character after the ending
After finishing a story, the same character becomes available for free-form text conversation in a chat mode, with replies delivered in the character's voice. Chat uses in-app points. The notable design is the transition from a scripted narrative into continued conversation with a familiar character, not simply a standalone chatbot.

Create: edit story outlines, images and voices
Users can also build a character and a story. The developer describes editable outlines and five-episode script drafts, images generated from Japanese-language instructions, and voice customization for perceived age, voice quality, intonation and speed. These features place story consumption and creation inside one product; GameSlash has not independently benchmarked their quality.

Availability, pricing and source context
The launch covers the App Store for iPhone and the web. Registration and basic access are described as free with paid in-app items; character chat consumes points. The company announced a limited-time points offer through 24 October at noon Japan time, subject to changes in launch timing. Check the official TokiMake site for the current terms.
