Cavi Blender MCP releases editable before-and-after AI prop example with source Blender files
By GameSlash
A November 7 Cavi demo shares the AI-directed changes, original and revised Blender projects, and MIT-licensed renders for an editable 3D game-prop workflow.
On November 7, 2026, Cavi's Blender MCP developers added a fully editable before-and-after 3D prop example to their public repository. Rather than a generated picture with no usable project behind it, the Night Watch Lantern example supplies the original .blend file, an AI-directed design brief, a revised .blend file and both render images. It demonstrates a practical way to revise game props with an AI agent while keeping the geometry and materials editable.

What did the AI-assisted workflow change?
The starting object is a pale decorative lantern for an observatory, featuring an oversized crescent and brass pivot. The developer's sample prompt asks the agent to preserve those identifying features while changing the design into a functional harbor-night signal: lower and widen the storm hood, broaden the base, add protective ribs, and switch the finish to indigo enamel around warmer amber lighting.
Both project files remain in Blender's native editable .blend format. This matters for game assets: a creator can review proportions and materials, request a narrower follow-up change, and export a real mesh later rather than accepting a flat image as the final 3D object.
Verified new source: November 7 GitHub commit (documentation and example files were added together).

How to follow the example
The project README instructs users to download before.blend to their Cavi workspace, open a dedicated Blender session with `cavi-blender-mcp runtime start --project before.blend`, connect an AI agent, and ask for the specific harbor revision. The agent inspects and edits the same project; the creator reviews a preview before saving another editable copy. The completed night-watch-lantern.blend is included for comparison.
Availability is important
The November 7 update adds the example and source assets. Cavi Blender MCP 0.56.0 on PyPI was published on November 5, 2026, with both wheel and source distributions available. The example README specifies Cavi Blender MCP 0.56.0 and Blender 5.2.3 LTS, and the server requires Python 3.11 or newer. PyPI classifies the project as Beta.
The example README explicitly licenses the example artwork and files under this repository's MIT terms. The two original renders here are used unchanged with per-image source and licence credits; GameSlash has not run Blender or repeated the steps.
