ARK-5000 GRAND HOTEL
By Sarawut Mut
Roll dice to buy Water Plant, bid in Infinity Pool auction, then split funds to solve underground city air pollution crisis. Solo mode with three AI companions.
ARK-5000 GRAND HOTEL by Sarawut Mut is set in a 50-story underground hotel that becomes a home when the outside world becomes uninhabitable. The board includes residential areas, leisure spaces, and city support systems. We tested the Solo mode with three AI companions in version v1.9 and found that players must manage both their own assets and the shared city conditions.
Roll the dice and choose what to buy.
We play as a Corgi and in the first round reach the Water Plant, purchasing it for 190 AC in-game currency. The top board slot then displays the owner's name and a rent value of 30 AC, along with updated player panel data including adjusted funds and asset counts. These details immediately reveal the effects of the purchase.

In the center of the board is a cross-section image of a hotel, surrounded by asset and event spaces. Details of the selected location appear on the right, so each space includes both price and area atmosphere for reference. We purchased an additional Sky Lobby during our advance, reaching round three.
Bid even if it's not our turn.
When it's Panda's turn, the Infinity Pool area goes up for auction for everyone to bid. We offered 20 AC, and the AI raised the price to 80 AC. The screen then offered us to increase to 100 AC or pass. We chose to pass and saw Meow acquire the area. There are now decisions to be made during other players' turns.

Divide the money to manage the city.
An air contamination crisis appeared in round 3. The monitoring panel warned that the city would lose Stability each round until it was resolved. We contributed 100 AC once: our cash decreased, the ARK fund increased, and the counter said one more contribution was needed.

When helping again for another 100 AC, the crisis disappears. The pre-game screen shows Stability at 100% and Knowledge at 84%, so one must weigh whether to keep the money to buy assets or use it to solve central issues. Playing this period makes two matters clearly intertwined.
Location images give the board atmosphere, while prices, owners, scores, and events are spread across several panels. It suits careful reading and turn-by-turn decisions. Our test covered only the first three rounds of a 35-round match; we have not completed it, tried multiplayer, or assessed long-term balance.
