A turn-based combat game inside Gary the alien’s body. Choose three bacteria, combine weapon cards, and aim your shots across terrain that changes with the body’s reactions.

BacBat, or Bacteria Battle, is a turn-based artillery-style fighting game where players select three bacteria to disrupt the body of Gary, an alien trying to pass as human and heading to a job interview.

The lung arena in the gallery features a curved floor that rises and falls, with a long floating platform hovering above the fighting area. Bacteria stand apart on each side, with glowing bullets flying through the gap between the floor and the platform.

Combine cards before choosing when to shoot

The game page explains that each turn grants five cards and three AP. Selecting a card determines which bacterium will act. Two cards of the same type can be combined into a stronger card without losing AP during the combination, but playing that combined card requires more AP. Shooting is performed by holding down to charge and then releasing.

The intestinal stage features hills and floating blocks between opponents. The weapon systems recommended on the game page include homing bullets, area-damaging excavation, and pushing characters out of their original positions.

Gary's body can change fields.

The stomach scene features a deep central pit with several small platforms floating above the ground, unlike the long platforms in the lung arena. The sample image shows bacteria scattered along the pit's edges while a purple bullet floats through the scene.

During combat, Gary's stress triggers physiological events such as acid flooding or organ constriction. The game page indicates that a warning will be given one round in advance, allowing players to prepare to dodge or use that transformation against the opponent.

The website states that this is a Playtest version, playable for free in a browser without requiring an account, and recommends using a computer with a keyboard and mouse.
