Base44 and Nitro by Overwolf announced the Base44 x Nitro Web Game Contest on November 5, 2026. The competition is open for original browser games built through Base44’s AI-assisted, natural-language workflow, offering $65,000 in prizes. The organizer’s announcement confirms the launch; the official contest page has live instructions and entry rules.

What the new competition changes for creators

The judging track offers $50,000: $25,000 for first place, $10,000 for second, $5,000 for third and ten $1,000 runner-up prizes. A separate $15,000 community track provides $5,000 for the community favorite and ten additional $1,000 awards. One eligible game may win in both tracks, and selected games are planned for display in the Overwolf Appstore. Judges assess gameplay, creativity and technical execution rather than whether a demo merely says it used AI. Importantly, community upvotes only select a shortlist of 25 eligible games; an appointed panel evaluates and ranks those finalists for the community prizes.

How to build and enter a game

Creators describe a game in natural language on Base44, refine it into something playable, publish it on a Base44 URL and submit through the official contest site. The game must be public and free to play in a browser, with no download or login required. One game per account is allowed, and entrants must be at least 18 years old; additional eligibility and intellectual-property restrictions apply. The contest's full terms are the authoritative source for country eligibility and other requirements. Only a new build created during the submission window qualifies; pre-existing projects, reskins and substantially copied templates are excluded.

Dates to know and why it matters

Submissions and community voting opened November 5, 2026 (00:00 UTC) and close December 3 (23:59 UTC); organizers plan to announce winners December 10. For indie and vibe-code developers, the noteworthy event is a contest that explicitly evaluates a functioning playable result and offers distribution alongside prize money. A generated prototype still needs an original, accessible and enjoyable gameplay loop; AI assistance by itself does not meet the judging criteria.
