Beat Hunter — Whisperwood
By Bundit Onumphai
A fantasy city rhythm game. Explore, select music and button count, then press notes while fighting in dungeons. Post-play accuracy, combo, and grade results.
Beat Hunter — Whisperwood is a rhythm game that places combat within a fantasy world. Players explore the city and select songs to enter dungeons. During combat, there is a note panel to press alongside character and monster scenes, so both city exploration and music gameplay exist within the same game.

Select the song and button style before entering the dungeon.
The city uses ground tapping to move; the music box serves as the entry point to Solo mode, where players can select songs, difficulty levels, and button counts. Early on, players can start with the 3-button mode to get accustomed to the note flow before trying more complex layouts.
During a song, notes move down lanes to be hit in time. The 3-key layout uses A, S and D. Beside the note panel, monsters attack the character and reduce HP. Players must track both the notes and combat status, rather than watching only the rhythm score.
Read results based on accuracy and combos.
The results show PERFECT, GOOD, BAD and MISS counts, accuracy, highest combo, score and grade. These indicate how well the notes were hit. The result heading is confusing, however: the tested round ended with KNOCKED OUT but still said DUNGEON CLEAR, so that heading alone should not be read as a victory.
A rhythm game for those who love an adventurous atmosphere.
An explorable fantasy town and a combat scene beside the note panel make choosing a song feel different from simply opening a menu and starting. The trade-off is having to track notes, HP and events around the character at once. It suits players interested in rhythm games with adventure elements and adjustable key layouts.
This opinion is based on city traversal and early song attempts, which have not yet successfully cleared the dungeon. The game allows Guest mode to start playing.
