Codex of Exorcism
By Tanachod ThaTul Kietbunjong
Tower Defense mixed with Auto Battler, ghost-hunting theme. Buy shamans to set up defenses, choose compatible relationships, and split gold between recruiting members and expanding the team.
Codex of Exorcism, also known as the Book of Exorcism, is a Tower Defense mixed with Auto Battler game where you purchase shamans to place along paths to defend your base from enemies advancing along routes. The goal is to survive for 14 nights. You arrange positions and select team members, while shamans fight automatically once waves begin. The Canal Village stage features a riverside village at night as the battlefield, with pathways through houses and bridges allowing you to divide forces for defense.
Position your team to defend the ghost routes
Switching between team preparation and combat phases, the shop's shaman offers selectable prices based on held gold. Purchased units are dragged onto the field to set up defensive formations. The sideline panel displays the type and number of enemies for the next wave, providing information for planning before pressing start. During combat, a speed-up ×2 button helps reduce the wait time for results.

Match relationships to earn team bonuses
Each exorcist has a lineage to pair through the Synergy system. For example, the Drunken Fist Boxer belongs to the Shenzhou lineage alongside the Shaolin Novice, and the Fighter lineage alongside the Muay Thai Fighter. When these three are assembled into a team, both lineages unlock bonuses simultaneously. Purchasing is therefore tied to existing members, and a single exorcist may contribute to more than one lineage.
The Synergies panel explains bonus effects on the field, where the two Shenzhou units have descriptions stating that every fourth attack will accumulate curses, and when three curses are accumulated, they will explode and stun. The two Fighter units increase the fighter's attack power by 15%. These details help understand the reasoning behind pairings, but it takes time to read the team names and conditions before making a purchase.

Gold must be sufficient for both player transfer fees and squad expansion costs.
The number of shamans available for deployment depends on the school's level. At the initial level, a single school supports three units, and upgrading to level two increases the capacity to four units. The same gold must be used both to purchase shamans and to upgrade the school, so budgeting for team expansion is necessary when slots are full. Adding members also opens the way to fill roles such as the Gungdo Archer alongside melee combatants.

Suitable for those who prefer to assemble the team before reviewing the results.
The game's appeal lies in thinking about positioning alongside the shaman's connections. The chosen team must perform under real conditions, within the gold and slot limits. It suits those who enjoy trying out characters to see how their defensive styles work. Combat is automatic, so there are periods of watching the results after team setup, and various bonus lines are details that must be gradually understood.
The demo is playable via web without requiring an account. The creator stated in a post dated October 5, 2026, that the game is designed for PC and that mobile usage still needs improvement. This opinion is based on the first three waves of Canal Village.
