Grove Frontier is a portrait-format browser action game where your hero fires automatically while you navigate waves of monsters. Pattara Safe Watanajirat shared the game in AI Game Dev Thailand, describing six playable characters, eight beast spells, 20 stages and a world-boss system. Its immediate appeal is the balance between staying clear of enemies and collecting experience to strengthen the current run.
Start as a guest and focus on movement
The game provides a guest session saved on this device. GameSlash entered the first stage without signing in, observed automatic attacks and reached the stage boss. The control guide lists a touch joystick or WASD/arrow keys for movement, Shift for a dash, and Space or Q for the first skill. Automatic fire targets nearby enemies, leaving movement and skill timing to the player.
Experience gems lead to a choice of one of three upgrade cards. The guide lists options including damage, attack speed, split shots, piercing, health, movement speed and a pickup magnet. This makes the route through the arena matter: moving only to avoid enemies can leave useful experience behind.
Boss waves and an optional bot

GameSlash briefly enabled the game’s bot toggle and observed it move the hero and continue combat during the boss encounter. The pause menu separately exposes automatic cards, summons and skills, so the available automation controls are more granular than one global switch.
According to the guide, regular waves lead to an arena boss, while stages 5, 10 and 15 open purple portals to larger boss fights in a single-screen room. Red warning circles mark incoming boss attacks. Stage stars reward completion, finishing without dying and meeting a target time.
Progression beyond one run
The game describes gold and experience retained after a stage, a shop for permanent upgrades and unlockable heroes. Cleared stages can be replayed in hard mode. Endless waves unlock after stage 10, with increasingly strong enemies and a random boss every ten waves. These later modes are described by the built-in guide; the hands-on session covered the opening stage only.
The visible update notice identifies version 0.6.0 and says scenery changes between runs, including obstacles, ponds, logs, colours and weather. The main menu also provides characters, a gallery, missions and the world-boss feature. The creator’s time-sensitive boss health and countdown are not treated as current availability guarantees.
Who it suits
Grove Frontier suits players looking for short, wave-based action with upgrade choices and a strong emphasis on positioning. The tall arena and large skill buttons make its touch-oriented design clear; this review tested the browser guest route on a computer. Guest progress is local, so consider that before clearing site data or changing devices.
