My Dream Piano

By Khun Aoun Sornsit

Web-based music game featuring piano challenges as combat levels, with a note-based song practice mode and rewards for completing levels.

My Dream Piano is a web-based music and educational game centered around an adventure theme. The developers designed it for children, featuring both piano puzzle levels and a song practice mode. Its bright colors and cartoon characters create a friendly atmosphere. Even those without a piano can start playing using on-screen keys.

Piano answers to pass the level.

In the first level, "White or Black?", the focus is on pressing keys that match the Thai instructions. When the correct key is pressed, a confirmation message appears and the opponent loses power, making the effect of the answer immediately visible. This level's puzzles focus on getting familiar with the white and black keys. The rules are not complicated, but those who already know piano may find it too easy.

The White or Black? level shows a correct answer after a black key is clicked; the Black Key Soldier loses 50 HP, leaving 250 of 300.
Correct answers in the key-color level display feedback and reduce the opponent’s HP.

After passing the level, a summary screen displays stars and stickers, such as the three-star reward and the rabbit sticker from the first level in the image. The "Retry" and "Next Level" buttons are on the same screen, allowing the player to choose whether to review the original question or continue to the next level.

The level completion screen shows three stars, a rabbit sticker, and a button to play again or go to the next level.
The first summary screen displays stars, stickers, and options to replay or proceed.

Practice songs by following the notes.

The song practice mode features falling note bars that guide you to the correct keys, displaying note names, finger numbers, and hand images indicating key positions. The practice screen includes Stop, Repeat, and BPM adjustment buttons. In the initial section of the tested song "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," the system pauses until the correct key is pressed according to the prompt, then continues with a "GOOD!" message upon correct input. This mode allows time to observe each note and locate its corresponding key individually, without needing to rush through the entire song continuously.

Supplementary and Connectivity Systems

Beyond the levels and song training, the developers note that there are chibi character creation and customization systems, daily missions, coin accumulation, treasure chests, and leaderboards, as well as piano duels against CPUs or online friends. These features are add-ons for those who enjoy collecting and competing.

Regarding hardware, the developer states that it supports real keyboards via cable and Bluetooth, recommends Chrome or Edge for playing, and suggests Bluefy on iPad. This test used only on-screen keys, so compatibility with each piano model has not yet been confirmed.

Who is it suitable for?

The standout feature of My Dream Piano is its use of accessible musical challenges combined with combat and rewards. The song mode includes a helper that gradually guides you through the notes, making it suitable for beginners trying out a music game or parents looking for this genre for their children. The developer is still open to testing the game. This opinion is based on the first level and the early part of the practice song.
