A browser collectible card game with turn-based team battles. Choose skills and targets, then spend stage rewards on star upgrades to improve your cards' stats.
Pixeldeck Battle is a web-based collectible card game where players build character teams for turn-based battles. Characters stand in a pixel art arena, with each card's stats and skills informing attack choices. This review is based on the first stage and card star upgrades during CBT.
Select skill before selecting target.
The starting team consists of Bone Raider, Goblin Scrapper, and Stone Golem. The combat screen displays ATK, HP, and DEF stats near each character. When it's a character's turn, the skill bar changes accordingly. Players select a skill and tap an enemy to execute the move, allowing them to understand combat mechanics through the short on-screen commands.
Skills include both basic moves and those requiring cooldowns, so you must check which moves are ready before selecting a target that suits the character. Numbers above heads help track health loss instantly, but status values and skill icons are small relative to the screen area, so you must also refer to the controls at the bottom.

Stage rewards help develop your cards
Upon clearing a level, the game awards both Gold and experience to team cards, clearly distinguishing new-level bonuses from standard rewards. The results screen offers options to proceed to the next level or replay, enabling a continuous gameplay loop from combat to resource accumulation for team development.

Upgrading stars uses Gold to increase stats and expand the level cap for cards. For example, after upgrading Bone Raider to one star, its level cap increases by one additional tier. Players thus have a reason to revisit their card collection and allocate Gold to cards they wish to develop further, with the resulting changes visible on the same detail screen.
The card details page also includes skill descriptions, attack percentages, and cooldowns for each move. For example, Bone Slash targets a single enemy, while Grave Rush specifies attacking all enemies. This information helps evaluate cards based on their skill set alongside their stats.

Things to know before collecting during CBT
Pixeldeck Battle's appeal lies in selecting skills turn by turn and using rewards to upgrade cards. Early on, attack results, rewards, and stat changes are displayed continuously. Those who enjoy gradually developing their team have something to try, starting with the cards provided by the game.
In the test version, Guest data is stored locally on the device, while the developer's announcement states that after the CBT concludes, data will be wiped to restart fresh, except for Limited cards, so be sure to read the latest terms before investing time in long-term collection.
