Realms of Shaman

By Rattasart Wannasen

A browser MMORPG built around spirit mediums and folklore, with temple quests, separate Base and Job progression, and detailed skill planning.

Spirit mediums at the centre of an MMORPG

Realms of Shaman builds its MMORPG identity around spirit mediums, occult traditions, and folklore. A temple is the first destination in its opening city, introducing the setting before players work through equipment, skills, and character progression.

Its ten career paths draw inspiration from beliefs associated with different countries. Creator Rattasart Wannasen names Thai occult practitioners, Thai shamans, and Santet among the examples. These are interpretations for a fantasy game, with different skill and combat identities. Every path begins as an apprentice spirit medium rather than immediately unlocking an advanced class.

Follow the temple quest and prepare to explore

The introductory quest sends players to Luang Ta Tham outside the temple, then asks them to inspect their starting equipment and prepare their skills. Its checklist gives the important menus a practical purpose instead of presenting them as unrelated buttons. The follow-up quest points toward the spirit garden and Pa Boonmee’s herbal workshop before returning to the temple.

The objective control provides navigation toward the NPC, supported by a minimap and warp markers. That navigation is distinct from automatic combat. The player guide also lists WASD, arrow keys, ground clicks, and a mobile joystick as movement options.

Base Level and Job Level are different milestones

Class advancement depends on Job Level, not Base Level. The current guide directs apprentices to reach Job 10 before advancing to tier two through Master Khong. Job restarts at 1 in the new tier, while Base Level remains.

Although all beginners share the apprentice title, the guide says their weapons and normal attacks follow their chosen path. Tier-two specialist skills require advancement first. Checking both levels therefore gives a clearer picture of progress than watching the character-level number alone.

Read a skill’s cost as well as its name

The skill window separates active and passive abilities and displays current ranks. Spirit Bolt at level one lists 6 SP, a 1.5-second cast, a range of nine tiles, and a one-second cooldown, with 115% MATK magical damage in its description. Those details reveal resource and timing considerations before a skill goes onto the action bar.

Soul Heal, Amulet Blast, and Meditation also appear in the catalogue. Listed does not mean learned: ranks and skill-point requirements show what is available now, while later class tabs remain locked behind advancement.

A browser MMORPG in CBT

Creator Rattasart Wannasen describes a longer-term direction built around equipment, upgrades, cards, and folklore-inspired bosses, with trading and guild systems supporting shared play. GvG and guild wars are future development plans beyond the current test.

Realms of Shaman is currently in CBT and runs in a browser without installation. Its opening offers a clear starting route: meet the temple NPC, prepare equipment and skills, and understand the difference between Base and Job progression before developing a build.
