Render for Food

By เจ้าหญิงมนตรา

Manage an animation studio, assign tasks based on skills, make decisions per client briefs, oversee team morale, equipment, and studio costs.

Render for Food is a web-based animation studio management game that starts with a small office, where you take on projects, assign staff based on their skills, and manage team expenses. Characters move around and rest according to in-game time, while the player selects projects and makes decisions between them.

During the trial run, we accepted a character design job for an indie game with a payment of 2,400 baht and a three-day deadline, assigning Tun to handle the design phase. The studio initially had a computer desk, a sofa, and a food corner, with Pete sitting beside the sofa while Tun worked.

Select the right job for the team, and read the client brief.

During work, a window appears to select a character style based on the client's brief. The character looks cool. When "Cool and Tough" is selected, the game confirms it matches the client's preference and adds 15 quality points. The work tried but not yet submitted serves as an example of decision-making during production.

The board in the manual separates the required skills, deadlines, and compensation for each project, which includes character design, writing ad scripts, and 15-second animation. The sample animation work must pass through the storyboard stage before entering the animation phase.

Expand the studio by looking at team strength versus costs.

As in-game funds increase, players purchase tools, hire personnel, and expand team facilities such as rest areas or dining halls. The website also explains the computer and machinery electrical and thermal systems, necessitating the arrangement of workspaces alongside cooling equipment.

Free to play via browser. The website warns that save data is stored locally on the device and browser without requiring login; clearing data or switching browsers will not restore previous saves. Suitable for those who want to gradually build their team and follow the multi-stage progression of the studio.
