Samkok Kin Reab

By Chatbordin Klinsrisuk

Try the Three Kingdoms Hidden Role Card Game in tutorial mode with bots. Draw cards, select targets, and counter attacks at the right moment. Chatbordin Klinsrisuk's game is playable on web and Android.

Samkok Kin Reab, or Samkok Kin Reab: Hidden Role, features legendary figures from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms placed on a card-based board where each player has a secret objective. Chatbordin Klinsrisuk, the creator, stated that the game began as Sanguosha but was adapted to suit his preferred playstyle.

Start with the Emperor in the Training Table.

We entered as a Guest and chose practice mode. A four-seat table assigned us Liu Bei in the Emperor role, alongside Huang Yueying, Xiahou Yuan, and Cai Wenji bots. Characters sit around the table, with health, hand counts, and skills shown on their character cards.

The website describes four roles: Emperor, Loyalist, Rebel, and Traitor. Only the Emperor is revealed. Choosing whom to help or attack therefore gives other players clues about a player's intentions.

Reveal your hand and choose which card to play.

The hand opens in a separate window from the table. Our options included Fire Arrow, Defense, Lightning Strike, and Host a Festival. Start, Draw, and Play phases are clearly marked at the top, with Continue and End Phase buttons below.

We played Host a Festival targeting Xiahou Yuan. The log said the bot did not respond with Parry, and the Festival was placed at that seat. Our hand dropped from four cards to three, making the targeting process visible before play continued.

Even at the bot's turn, it still needs to respond.

When it's Huang Yueying's turn, the bot uses a mob of bandits, and the game opens up to counter for us. There's a line pointing from the attacker to the character, a countdown timer, and suggestions to attack, parry, or skip. At this point, you need to keep an eye on the table while other players take their turns.

The highlight feature at the start of gameplay shows the seat currently being played with a message indicating what needs to be answered. Cards must be viewed in a separate window, resulting in switching between the hand and the overall table view. This test covered the match opening, playing one card, and interacting with bots. It did not play until the end or test with real people.

Gameplay Modes and Game Access Channels

The website features 59 heroes from the four kingdoms, along with 43 card types in a 160-card deck. The multiplayer mode supports three to eight players and allows bots to fill empty seats, while the single-player mode lets you battle one to seven bots.

Guest access to the bot practice mode is available without account registration, while the lobby's leaderboard button requires Google sign-in. The game is playable via web on both mobile and desktop, and an Android app titled "Samkok Kin Reab: Hidden Role" is available on Google Play by A Good Code.
