Star Drift Online

By Thitiwat Sorada

Pilot the Gunner spacecraft out of the station, undertake missions in the asteroid belt, and gain levels from enemies. Features skills and Autopilot for web-based combat.

Star Drift Online is a web-based MMORPG spacecraft game. It begins by selecting a server and character, then leaving the station to explore the asteroid belt. Players accept missions and fight enemies to gain experience points and credits. The graphics feature small, brightly colored spacecraft and cartoon-style space scenes.

Fly from the station on the first mission

In the GameSlash experiment, we selected Gunner and started at Star Drift Station, which has Crafting, Mission, Market, and an exit gate to space. The First Flight mission required entering the Asteroid Belt Sector 1. Upon clicking to travel through the gate to that area, the mission changed to ready to return and deliver to Mimi at the station.

Select target, use skill, and enable Autopilot.

The combat screen displays the ship's HP and EN alongside the selected enemy's health bar. Below are skill slots linked to F1–F9 buttons, while the minimap and quest list are positioned on the right. In the creator's video, level 21 character BELL uses the Gunner ship to fight against a spy pirate in Sector 2's asteroid belt, with system windows showing credits and materials received.

During actual gameplay testing, we enabled Autopilot in Sector 1, and the ship began attacking Pebble Imps, earning credits and Space Rocks. Upon ascending from Level 1 to Level 2, the AUTO label appeared above the ship's name while the system was active. The game indicated that manual control would pause Autopilot for 5 seconds, and that automated hunting yields experience, credits, and drop chances at an 85% rate.
