Beckett

By GameSlash

Connect an AI coding agent to Godot for scene and script editing, runtime observation and debugging.

Beckett is an MCP server embedded in the Godot editor. It lets a compatible coding agent inspect scenes, edit scripts, launch a project and observe its screen, runtime state and logs.

Copy the add-on into a project and enable it in Godot’s plugin settings, then connect the compatible MCP client. The project supports Godot 4.2+, recommends 4.4+, and documents automatic server startup and client configuration. No separate Node/Python bridge is required for the editor server.

Free MIT-licensed Lite supports observation and authoring, including GDScript validation before write. Full is a separate paid edition adding input-driven playtesting, assertions and other tools. Parsing successfully does not prove correct gameplay.

The local server can modify project content. Use version control and review permissions; a compatible AI client may have its own costs and data handling. GameSlash has not run or security-tested the add-on. Latest release checked: v1.16.0, October 6, 2026.
