Soundbox

Soundbox creates and organizes sound effects, music and speech locally with downloadable audio models. Its Studio combines dialogue, music and effects on a multitrack timeline. Compatible coding assistants can control audio work through its local MCP server.

Install the app, choose a model after reviewing its size and license, describe the sound, then listen to the takes and export or arrange them. To connect an agent, start Soundbox and use its local MCP endpoint: http://127.0.0.1:17494/mcp.

CPU generation can be slow. Model hardware requirements vary; the developer has not confirmed the verified models on Mac yet. Keep the unauthenticated local API off the public internet.

The app and its product screenshots are MIT-licensed, not every downloadable model or generated sound. Check the chosen model’s commercial-use terms and use only source audio and voices you have permission to use. Some model downloads require a separate provider account or token.
