WULIN DUELS

By Guy Phaiboon

A card game themed around martial artists. Form a team of two characters and a 30-card deck. Arrange five moves in slots alongside an opponent, then use card order and Qi energy to plan across turns.

WULIN DUELS is a card game themed around martial artists where you select two characters from different manuals and build a 30-card deck using cards from the chosen manuals. The goal is to defeat both of the opponent's characters first.

In each round, both sides arrange their formations in advance without seeing the opponent's cards. When ready, the cards are revealed from left to right, one by one. In the battle scene, a main character stands at the front to receive attacks, while a reserve character waits to switch in, with HP and Qi energy bars displayed for each side.

Plan the order of your five moves before pressing ready.

You must fill all five slots to press Ready, but Qi per turn is limited and will be deducted when the card in that slot activates. Positions are also tied to conditions such as Opening, Meditate, and Finale, so you must consider both costs and the order in which cards take effect.

The WULIN DUELS planning screen shows three cards in five stance slots, with remaining cards in hand.

If the main unit runs out of HP, the backup unit will take over. Some Qi remains and can be carried over to the next round. The planning screen still allows viewing the opponent's previous round's moves to help arrange the next round.

Starting from the tutorial mode and being able to use all cards.

The website states that there are five tutorial chapters, a scripture puzzle, and duel training with the sect master before entering matchmaking or ranked modes. All 215 cards in the current database are available from the start. In-game coins are used to unlock character appearances. The main menu offers an option to play as a guest without creating an account.
