Zombie Street
By Nattachat Tamtamarat
Web-based pixel zombie shooter. Survive ground enemies and bats by walking, shooting, jumping, and timing limited explosive use.
Zombie Street is a web-based side-scrolling shooter where you control a female character with a gun fighting zombies on a night street. The first level, City Night, features pixel art with building and streetlight backgrounds. Gameplay focuses on moving position while shooting and watching for enemies approaching from around you.
Walk, shoot, and read enemy positions.
The gun fires forward in the direction the character is facing. Pressing J while moving allows you to maintain distance from enemies without stopping attacks. At the top of the screen, hearts, score, bomb count, and the BOSS IN counter are displayed, allowing you to monitor combat-relevant status in one area.

Zombies on the ground and bats flying in require looking at both left-right positions and vertical height. Press Space to jump, and use J to shoot while in mid-air, which changes the height of your shots. Even when rising above the group of zombies, there are still bats to beware of.

The bomb must be deployed at the right moment.
Besides the gun, there are grenades that are thrown using the I button. The remaining count on the screen decreases when used, so you must reserve them for moments when you actually need to use them. Having limited usable weapons adds the need to decide between moving and shooting.

Images and fighting rhythm
Pixelated graphics and a nighttime cityscape evoke a retro shooter atmosphere. Continuous movement, shooting, and jumping to change elevation allow for mobility during attacks. When zombies cluster together nearby, their closely packed positions become harder to distinguish, and players must also keep an eye on bats above. Consequently, players must divide their attention between the direction they are shooting and the surrounding area.
Who is it suitable for?
Suitable for those who enjoy action walking-shooting games and want to use movement to counter enemies; those unfamiliar with combining walking, jumping, and shooting may need time to adjust their controls. This review is based on playing the first level, City Night, with a keyboard, so it only assesses early-game combat.
