Universal Modder Showcases Minecraft in GTA V and AI-Made Terraria Weapons

By GameSlash

Universal Modder demonstrates Minecraft inside GTA V story mode and new Terraria weapons built with AI coding agents, with code, showcases and modding guides on GitHub.

Universal Modder is an open-source toolkit for AI coding agents to help build PC game mods. Its most striking examples include rendering a playable Minecraft world into GTA V story mode and creating new weapons and bosses for Terraria. The repository was created on September 30, 2026 and its shared modding knowledge base continued to receive updates in October. These are developer-documented showcases, not features GameSlash independently tested.

Minecraft inside GTA V: flying over Los Santos and making TNT explode

The showcase goes beyond placing Minecraft textures into GTA. The developer's passthrough mod runs Minecraft Java Edition alongside GTA V Legacy story mode, linking them through a Fabric mod, ScriptHookV and a ReShade add-on. Steve can fly an elytra across Los Santos, Minecraft TNT and creepers trigger GTA explosions, and hostile mobs can fight the police. The documented configuration used specific September 2026 game and loader versions and does not support GTA Online.

Terraria gets homing missiles, a tactical nuke and a new boss

The Fal Arsenal example for Terraria's tModLoader adds five weapons: Homing Missile Launcher, Tactical Nuke, Tesla Rifle, Singularity Launcher and Orbital Strike. It also includes three enemies and a two-stage Drone Mothership boss. The developer says the tactical nuke blasts a crater into the world; the mod's instructions recommend trying it in a spare world because explosions change terrain.

The two Terraria images above are concept artwork used in the asset-making process, not captured gameplay. According to the example's documentation, fal's image-generation models created initial designs, which the Universal Modder sprite pipeline converted into image assets for tModLoader. The project's gameplay videos and readme describe how the mod works, but GameSlash has not run the build.

Another example: a new Age of Empires II civilization

The repository also includes an Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition civilization called the San Franciscans, with a Robotaxi unique unit and Delivery Drones. The concept artwork shows how the developer uses AI-generated art and a 3D-to-sprite workflow, rather than presenting itself as an in-game screenshot.

What Universal Modder actually provides

Universal Modder supplies skills, a command-line tool and shared field notes for agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Gemini CLI. Its suggested process is to identify a game's engine and modding route, back up saves, inspect code, implement a small change, generate assets, verify it in the running game, and document the outcome for another agent. The toolkit is not a guarantee that every PC title can be modded automatically.

The author sets explicit safeguards: avoid bypassing DRM or anti-cheat, do not distribute game files or decompiled code, and ask before operating the user's computer or publishing a mod. Tools, owned games, compatible builds and some separate asset-generation accounts are still required.
