Meshy N1 joins Retexture API for image-guided game asset textures

By GameSlash

The update supports up to four references for 2K color textures on existing meshes, with specific limits and credit costs.

Meshy has added N1 to its Retexture API, allowing developers to apply image-led color textures to an existing 3D mesh. The workflow gives game teams another way to explore visual variants of characters and props.

The November 2, 2026 API update accepts one to four reference images, with the front view first, and outputs a 2K base-color texture. Developers need to select meshy-n1 explicitly because latest still resolves to Meshy 7.

Meshy says N1 generates texture directly in 3D to reduce seams and inconsistencies caused by projecting images from multiple views. The examples are vendor demonstrations, so creators should inspect results from multiple angles before using them in a game.

N1 outputs base color only, without PBR maps such as roughness or normals, and does not support 4K or 8K in this mode. Meshy's documentation lists 10 credits per Retexture task.

On November 3, Meshy also added texture_model to Image to 3D and Multi-Image to 3D, allowing developers to choose a texture model within mesh generation. Pricing combines the selected mesh and texture costs.
