AIDOL v0.1.4 Launches a Codex-Powered Character Design Canvas for Games

New Windows desktop app AIDOL released v0.1.4 on October 10, 2026, using Codex to help draw game characters and separate clothing parts in an editable canvas.
AIDOL, a new desktop character-design app for game and anime creators, published Windows release v0.1.4 on October 10, 2026. It combines a character creator, a movable canvas and a Codex-assisted drawing workflow, allowing artists to keep their character description and clothing pieces together rather than scattering them across chats.

Creators can adjust hairstyles, appearance and outfit attributes, then prepare an illustration job that opens in a Codex conversation for the user to send. Finished images return to the app to be selected. The developers say the tool can also analyze a chosen image and separate clothing and accessory pieces onto the canvas.

AIDOL stores character definitions in YAML and provides local revision history and ZIP export. Its interface supports English, Japanese and Traditional Chinese, although AI-written character profiles are currently still in Traditional Chinese according to the README.

The app is in early preview and currently targets Windows; other operating systems have not been tested. Artwork shown in the project includes AI-generated sample character assets, which should not be confused with artwork personally produced by GameSlash.
