OhMyGame beta 5.3–5.4 adds pixel-art asset templates and bundled media tools
By GameSlash
A fresh template workflow covers characters, effects, scenes and terrain, with desktop FFmpeg utilities and clearer guidance for AI game makers.
WhiteTowerAI released OhMyGame beta.5.3 and beta.5.4 on November 4, 2026. The first adds reusable pixel-art asset workflows, while the next revises how creators discover and follow those templates. These are specific new features, not just another AI-generated indie game listing. Details are in the 5.3 release and 5.4 release.

What creators can make with the new templates
Beta.5.3 adds canvas templates and reusable asset workflows for six groups: characters, effects, objects, scenes, skins and terrain. Beta.5.4 renames the home-page cards to Asset Templates, moves them below Explore, adds a short description of each output, and rewrites the pixel-art and effects guides to show how to begin and where each result belongs inside a game.
A practical use case is to start with a character style, then build effect and terrain assets to match, rather than generating unrelated files. The developer provides visual examples for these template categories; this does not establish that every generated asset is automatically an engine-ready sprite sheet.

Image, audio and video tools now bundled
The beta.5.3 desktop package also bundles media processing utilities for images and FFmpeg-backed audio/video workflows. The changelog cites improvements to project switching, canvas performance, preview reliability and agent-runtime recovery, along with fixing packaged media dependencies. Beta.5.4 addresses an erroneous macOS background-service warning after reopening the app.
These releases are marked prereleases, and GameSlash has not run or benchmarked the installed app. Game builders should still check transparent backgrounds, frame size, pivot alignment, engine imports and artwork rights before putting generated assets into a playable game.
