Godot MCP Studio 1.4 adds gamepad tests and visual asset checks

By GameSlash

The update extends AI-assisted checks inside running Godot games and helps creators inspect image variations and sprite frames.

Coadite released Godot MCP Studio 1.4 on October 28, 2026, adding gamepad and touch tests and better inspection of Image Studio results. For Godot creators using a coding assistant, the update expands what the agent can verify after changing a game.

The new controls cover buttons, sticks, taps and drags. An agent can also wait for gameplay signals, such as a character dying or a level ending, rather than judging success only from code. These features belong to Pro; Lite 1.2.0 receives stability and script-search improvements.

Image Studio lets an agent inspect numbered variations, animation frames or tiles and choose a result. Its canvas and timeline still matter: creators can review a sprite’s silhouette, frame order and looping before exporting. The documentation’s slime example below shows seven frames, making that review step concrete.

Runtime checks require the Godot editor, its add-on and a running game. Pro is a one-time v1.x software license, while hosted image generation and AI edits spend separate credits. Local drawing, editing and export do not consume generation credits. Review the quoted cost before approving a generation.
