Ragnarok Rebuild

By Prem Khongsak

Prem Khongsak’s unofficial online-game learning project, tested through Guest creation, click-to-move and inventory inspection; combat and quests remain untested.

Ragnarok Rebuild is Prem Khongsak’s learning project exploring how an online game works, using Ragnarok as a case study. The game explicitly identifies itself as unofficial and unaffiliated with Gravity Co. Ltd. Our October 14, 2026 test verified Guest character creation, movement and opening the inventory.

Starting as a level-one Novice

We selected the ROWEB server, chose Continue as Guest and created GameSlash14 with the default appearance. The character entered a rendered grassy field as a level-one Novice. The HUD showed HP 40/40 and SP 11/11, a minimap, command bars and on-screen touch controls.

Clicking the path changed the character’s position and direction, with landmarks shifting as the camera followed. This verifies click-to-move. We did not test fighting monsters, completing quests or character progression.

Inspecting the inventory

The Inventory window opened with Item, Equip and Etc tabs, a 3/100 counter and weight 80/2830 (2%). This establishes that the window opened and displayed these values. Item use, selling, trading and equipping were not tested.

The creator’s learning project

In the source post, Prem Khongsak describes studying systems ranging from sprites and animation to networking, databases and servers. He says he is rebuilding some parts with Unity and C#/.NET, using AI to study code, plan, test and solve problems. This is the creator’s development context, not evidence that every mentioned system was tested here.

Test limits

The opening screen displayed Protocol v29; that protocol label should not be treated as a confirmed version number for every game system. Combat, quests, crafting, parties, trading, play with other people, save re-entry and mobile play remain untested, even though touch controls are visible. This is a bounded hands-on introduction to the project and its opening steps.
