Godot Editor MCP

By GameSlash

Connect an AI agent to a live Godot editor for scene editing, GDScript, playtesting and verification.

Godot Editor MCP connects an AI assistant to the Godot editor you already have open. It can inspect scenes, edit nodes and GDScript, run playtests, read errors and help export a project. Changes use Godot's undo system.

Install the godot-editor-mcp Python server, add the matching Godot Editor MCP addon to the project and enable it under Project Settings → Plugins. Connect an MCP-compatible client, check its connection, then start with a small task and review the changes.

Requires Godot 4.4 or later and Python 3.11 or later. Stable and beta releases have different engine targets, so match the server and addon versions. The Asset Store listing can lag behind PyPI. AI service costs depend on your chosen provider. The project is MIT licensed; keep backups and test changes before shipping.
